"Kusina Dabaw has been serving Davaoeños since 1978 with authentic Filipino-adapted Chinese delicacies of saucy noodles, steamed pao, and more. Despite its long history, I rarely come across strong online recommendations, which is probably why I hadn’t tried it until now. For this visit, I went with dishes recommended directly from Google Maps reviewers which include the Lomi for one (₱185) and the Salted Pork Pao (₱74 each), and both were surprisingly good. The lomi was flavorful and comforting, while the pao was soft, savory, and a perfect match. I finished everything off with a regular soda, a simple but satisfying combo. Located along the iconic San Pedro Street, the restaurant may look a bit unassuming from the outside since not much has changed in terms of the building or façade, but don’t let that fool you. This place is a local gem that only long-time residents seem to know well. Kusina Dabaw operates 24 hours, and they have plenty of skilled staff who work efficiently and are quick to assist. They also accept all forms of payment, which is a big plus. Overall, a classic Davao institution worth rediscovering especially if you’re craving comforting, flavorful Filipino-Chinese dishes that have stood the test of time."

"We went here around 10AM so we didnt have a hard time getting seated. We got a lot of different stuff - Gulami: Perfectly cooked noodles in beefy-spicy broth - Sweet and Sour Pork: Pork pieces are really tender, drenched in sweet and tangy sauce. It has chunks of pineapple, onions, and bellpeppers - Salted Pork Siopao: Bola-bola siopao with salted egg - Pork Asado Pao: I was used to the sweet pulled pork filling asado, but this one is ground pork. We paid using cash."

"First time at Kusina Dabaw and I loved it! Ordered the lomi (solo) and their bestseller salted pork pao, perfect combo. The lomi came hot with thick noodles and condiments on the side, while the siopao was new for me and definitely a must try. Big thanks to the attentive waiter who recommended it. Great food + great service, will be back"
